Motor Valley News – Da Spa a Misano

ALPHATAURI IN RIMONTA

Se il fine settimana belga è stato oro puro per la Red Bull, anche per la sorellina minore sono arrivate delle soddisfazioni, anche se non riflesse in quella che è la classifica finale del Gran Premio. La domenica del Junior Team Red Bull di Faenza parte in salita. Tsunoda era già destinato a partire dalla pitlane per le penalità ricevute. Per Gasly invece le difficoltà sono iniziate sulla griglia di partenza. Qualificatosi P8 il francese era pronto a partire, ma un problema elettrico ne ha ritardato le procedure standard pre partenza ed è quindi stato obbligato a partire dalla corsia box insieme al compagno di squadra. In gara una rimonta incredibile ha portato il francese in P9 per il suo 100esimo Gran Premio, mentre il giapponese ha chiuso P13 mentre era in lotta per la zona punti con il trenino di metà schieramento. Luci e ombre in Belgio per il team della Motor Valley che ha anche qualcosa di positivo da portarsi a casa in ottica della gara back to back in Olanda e poi dell’ultimo appuntamneto della tripletta in casa a Monza, dove trionfarono nel 2020.

Pierre Gasly: 
“It’s been an amazing race, it’s my 100^th race today, so it’s a special one. I’m really surprised with how we’ve finished, after having to start from the pitlane to come back home in the top 10 is pretty incredible, so we should be happy with that today. We were obviously lined up in P8 on the grid, but had an issue and had to return to the garage, luckily we got the car started, and were able to begin the race from the pitlane. The car isn’t quite where we want it to be yet, we’ve still got some areas we need to work on, but I’m pleased we managed to be back scoring points again today.”

Yuki Tsunoda:
“Starting from the pitlane was always going to be tough, but I think the pace was strong today and we had a good strategy, being able to make our way forward during the race. Unfortunately, we lost quite a lot of time in the pitstops and then I got stuck in a DRS train, but I’m pretty happy with how I drove today and how the car felt. Hopefully we can maintain the performance we’ve found this weekend in the Netherlands, alongside a clean race weekend, and aim once again for the points.”

Franz Tost (Team Principal):
“Firstly, congratulations to Oracle Red Bull Racing for a fantastic 1-2 here in Spa, it was an unbelievable drive from Max. From our side, we managed to score some points today, which is positive, as we’ve not been able to do this at the last few races. Pierre drove a great race. Whilst on the starting grid, in his P8 spot, the electrical system stopped working so we had to bring his car back to the garage, where we were then able to start the PU to be able to begin the race from the pitlane. We must go away and investigate why it worked again once we returned to the garage. Of course, it was then a difficult race for Pierre, but he drove very well. He struggled with a lack of grip at the beginning of the race but during his later stint on the Mediums, he did a great job, and managed to make up multiple positions. Yuki also started from the pitlane today with a different strategy, with him starting on the hard tyres, he was able to do an extended stint on these, not coming in until lap 18 for the new tyre. I must say, Yuki also drove a really strong race and showed a good performance. He got stuck for some time behind Zhou but was able to overtake him on the last lap and finished in thirteenth. We hope now in the Netherlands to have a race weekend without any technical problems or PU changes so we can return to the performance that we had at the start of the season.”

IL TEAM GRESINI PRONTO PER IL GRAN PREMIO DI CASA A MISANO

Terz’ultimo appuntamento europeo del Campionato del Mondo MotoGP con tappa casalinga per il Team Gresini Racing MotoGP con Enea Bastianini e Fabio Di Giannantonio pronti per tornare protagonisti tra le curve amiche del Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. C’è da riprendersi la scena domenicale per quel che riguarda Enea Bastianini, sfortunato nell’ultima uscita austriaca dopo la prima pole position di categoria mentre per Fabio Di Giannantonio è il momento di puntare con costanza alla top10.
 
Corse e ricorsi storici. A Misano si corre dal 2007: in quell’edizione Marco Melandri fu il migliore degli italiani al traguardo (4º dietro a Stoner, Vermeulen e Hopkins), mentre per il primo e unico podio MotoGP targato Gresini Racing sul tracciato casalingo bisognerà aspettare fino al 2012 con il terzo posto di Alvaro Bautista.  Sul Marco Simoncelli World Circuit Enea Bastianini è un vero e proprio specialista: una vittoria e un secondo posto in Moto3 (2015 e 2016 vestito Gresini), una vittoria in Moto2 nel 2020 sulla via del titolo mondiale, e ben due podi lo scorso anno all’esordio in MotoGP. Anche il ruolino di Fabio Di Giannantonio grida trionfi: podi in Moto3 (2017 e 2018) e podio in Moto2 nel 2019. Il 49 già quest’anno ha dimostrato di esaltarsi tra le curve di casa (vedi Mugello).

ENEA BASTIANINI:
“Non so se saremo in grado di lottare per la vittoria a Misano, ci sono tanti piloti velocissimi su questo tracciato, soprattutto tra gli italiani. Ovviamente ci proveremo, è innegabile che sia tra i miei circuiti favoriti e abbiamo tanta voglia di cancellare la pessima domenica di Spielberg”.
 
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO:
“Misano è Misano, un weekend diverso e speciale. È un tracciato pazzesco e il tifo di casa è sempre incredibile. Ci sono tanti eventi, ci sarà un casco speciale… in generale tanta energia positiva nell’aria. Veniamo da un risultato positivo in Austria e non ci resta che continuare così, magari regalando un po’ di show a chi verrà a sostenerci”.
